Fear. Worry. Panic. Fight or Flight?
These experiences aren’t new and yet, there is no easy way of addressing stress. Is there really a way to cope at all?
You’re the last one in the office, workload is piling up, you’ve skipped dinner and you don’t know what to do - sound familiar?
This won’t do your wellbeing or your health any good. Nothing gets done and that time could have been better devoted to rest.
Little by little, all that stress & anxiety is ballooning up and one day it’s going to pop.
The WHO has recognized 'chronic stress' or burnout as a medical condition when they added it to the International Classification of Diseases.(1) According to a Gallup survey of nearly 7,500 employees, 23% of them report feeling burnout at work very often or always, while an additional 44% reported feeling it sometimes.
As if it wasn’t precarious enough, chances of being rushed to the emergency room during a burnout event shoots up by 23%.(2)
Nothing short of insidious, more and more people are falling victim to this silent killer.
